Thermal Insulation and TSE 825
Our planet has been running out of energy sources at a frighteningly high rate. Thermal insulation and energy conservation have become critical issues particularly following the oil crisis in 1973, when prices skyrocketed.
Thermal insulation has a positive effect not only on the buildings and the environment, but on the national and personal budgets as well. As a striking example, please refer to the graph below, which shows the average amount of fuel-oil per m2 spent on heating a building in Germany. The figures that were in the range of 22-27lt/m2 in the 1970s when buildings had no insulation have dropped to 3-7 lt/m2 in the new buildings of 2002. As Atermit, one of our main goals is to adhere to the TS 825 standards and pave the way in reducing fuel usage in Turkey up to 80%, just like in Europe.

In light of the studies conducted by the TSE, the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Energy for encouraging thermal insulation and energy conservation, the TS 825 standards have been revised in May 2008 and made into a requirement for all buildings built after June 2000. The application of the TS 825 is overseen by the City Hall and the designated inspection companies.
