Aterpor Fillers

Aterpor Fillers

Aterpor Asmolen is a ceiling and flooring element made of EPS. Its material structure reduces the static load of buildings.

It provides insulation between floors. Aterpor Asmolen is the lightest and highest heat-insulating inter-floor filling material. It reduces building costs by 3:1 load reduction in beams, columns, and slabs of buildings. Additionally, it minimizes the destructive effects of earthquake vibrations on the building.

It can be said that most of the buildings constructed today consist of reinforced concrete structures. Therefore, the importance given to sound and heat insulation has increased. Thus, it has become mandatory to use a filling material that provides sound and heat insulation during the construction of reinforced concrete structures and reduces the applied load on the building if possible. Asmolen is the name given to perforated bricks or blocks used as a filling material that meets these requirements. EPS Asmolen, offered by our company, is a filling material that provides much larger advantages compared to other types of this material.

Asmolen blocks or flooring used as filling material can be manufactured using different materials. Asmolens made of fired clay, slag or concrete mix can be used. The Asmolen blocks we produce are typically white and made of expanded polystyrene foam (EPS), a foam-like and closed-cell material, also known as expanded polystyrene foam. These Asmolen fillings are the most suitable ceiling and flooring elements. They are easy to install because they are lightweight. Their use in construction sites is also very easy, and they can be cut on construction sites. The fact that there is no risk of increasing the use of concrete is also an important advantage. Because they do not carry the risk of breaking, unlike alternative Asmolen methods. In short, choosing to use EPS Asmolen in construction sites provides significant advantages.

Benefits of EPS Fillers

Providing sound, heat, and impact insulation between floors is one of its most important features.

It can be applied with zero waste, as it carries no risk of breaking and can be easily cut, providing significant cost and labor/time advantages.

Being a thermoplastic material (a plastic group that softens when heated and hardens again when cooled) makes it an excellent thermal insulation material. Therefore, it reduces insulation and sound transmission between floors.

Thanks to being lighter than its alternatives, it does not add extra load to the building and reduces the static load of buildings. Therefore, it reduces iron and concrete usage and lowers the cost of the constructed building.

It significantly reduces transportation labor by approximately 4/5.

During the application of EPS Asmolen, fiber mesh is laid on the mold. This eliminates the risk of cracking after plastering.

Its ability to reduce the destructive effects on the building during earthquakes or similar events makes it the most preferred filling material.

EPS Fillers and Earthquake

According to the current earthquake regulation that came into effect on January 1, 2019, fillers gear flooring systems can be safely used in all earthquake zones, provided that they vary according to the building class and floor height.

With the construction of a project that meets the requirements of the regulation:

In 1st and 2nd degree earthquake zones, up to a building height of 17.50 meters, which is equivalent to a maximum of 5 floors (5 floors + 2.5 meters),

In 3rd and 4th degree earthquake zones, up to a building height of 28.00 meters, which is equivalent to a maximum of 9 floors (9 floors + 1 meter), fillers-threaded floors and all filler materials in them can be safely used.
